The soft rustle of leaves. The glorious warmth of an unclouded sun. Best of all, the fresh smell in the air. This was paradise. This was his home. Schaun had always been more comfortable in the woods. Didn't matter where the forest was, so long as it was quiet and had trees. This particular one; along the eastern edge of California up by Oregon, was simply gorgeous. Best of all was the hunting. Fresh bird, born and raised in the forest. They always tasted better. Always. These thoughts ran through his mind quickly. There might have been more had he been human at the time. Instead, a Peale's Falcon; native to these parts anyway, perched on a tree branch overlooking a decently sized clearing. There was a small creek, though it might not be sanitary. Shaun had no problem with that though, his current load-out had charcoal tablets for purifying. Yep, life was good.
Life had just gotten better. His powerful eyes caught sight of a bird taking off about 150 feet north. Dinner was served. With quick, powerful strokes of it's wings the small bird lifted itself above the forest, leveling out and circling quickly to relocate it's target. There it was, gaining altitude over the very clearing he had just come out of. This day just couldn't get better could it?. The falcon, now difficult to see from the ground, continued up on several weak thermals. Too the casual observer he was merely gaining altitude to make flight easier. Unfortunately for the poor starling he was aiming for, that was a poor assessment. Pulling in his wings, he quickly sped downward. His prey had reached about 250 feet up before he struck. Struck wasn't quite the right word though, he just fell past the bird. His massive speed and the resulting draft unbalanced the bird, throwing it out of the climb. Before it could regain it's flight, Schaun had flared his wings and started back up towards it. The rest was easy.
He glided smoothly back to his tree, carrying the still-living bird in his talons. A quick motion with his beak fixed that problem though. He let the bird drop, before following it down, shifting in transit. He could clean the bird much faster with his knife than he could with his beak. Smiling as the metal blade flashed in the light, his mind once again returned to its thoughts on the forest. "Nope, can't get any better." Paki was hunting by the stream now. Paki's pelage was composed of tri-color banded hairs. Each hair was banded with brown, gray, and black, in different patterns at some places. Tan paws pressed the loam and eyes that currently held true to a solid gray peered around. Paki would much rather be hunting at night, but a wolf couldn't be a chooser. The periwinkle heart on her face was her only truly distinct marking as she stalked through the woods. Slightly on the heavy side she could survive for a good long while without food if she had to, but since she'd managed to overpower the silly human that normally pressed her back she wanted to hunt.
The tantalizing scent of blood drew her attention and her entire body swung toward it. Clear, slightly salty, saliva dripped from her ribbon-like pink tongue. She was clearly not a regular wolf, she was too heavily built to be mistaken for one by even the biggest of idiots. Then again, even the biggest of idiots would run when they saw her if they had any sense of self preservation. She pushed a pair of bushes aside, her head thrusting between them. Her tongue swiped over her black lips as she watched the boy clean off the bird. With a loud growl she jumped out of the bushes, stalking toward him. In wolf she commanded him to leave the bird behind and go as she approached.
From inside Paki's mind Taki watched. What the hedge clippers are you doing Paki? She asked the wolf. She didn't get a reply, something that irked her. How rude! I feed you, I keep you safe, I make sure you sleep in good places, I get you a bath if you need it, and I even gave you a name! What gratitude do I get? I get ignored! Taki fumed at her wolven half. Paki continued to ignore the human soul, focused on her meal.
The wolf was less than a pounce away from Shaun now, and her fangs were fully exposed. She could just kill him and eat his body instead of the little bird. However, the human conscious within her would never allow that to occur. With a growl she made a snatch at the bird and then jumped back, head down. Blood dripped from her muzzle now. Her eyes changed to a fierce green-gray while she glared at Shaun. With a growl she started to shift. Soon a 17 year old girl with curly brown hair was crouching there, naked. A blue backpack was laying on the ground next to her, having some how been transported with her. She blinked and looked up at the boy.
"... Hullo?"

The fresh smell of the kill was making him horribly hungry. It would have been faster to eat it straight up. Unfortunately, he hated the bones, which his bird form can never seem to miss. As he plucked and de-boned, he had to hold back the temptation to just cram the thing in his mouth. Not an easy task. It just smelled so........so freaking good! His control stopped being a problem rather quickly though, when a loud growl quickly filled the area. Icy blue eyes quickly shot up and found the intruder. T'was a wolf, strangely large and with a curious heart on its head. So much for the perfect day he was having.
He quickly backed away a couple paces, holding the knife ready in case it lunged. Time stretched indefinitely over the course of mere seconds. The persistent question in his mind was rather simple. Did it want the bird.......or him? He wasn't prepared to find out. Before he could even think about shifting again, the beast lunged; though not directly at him. Instead it made a grab for his starling. He didn't get a chance to see what it took, or even if it was going again. Before his shocked mind could process his brush with death the threat was gone. In its place was a female, roughly his age, and with nothing but a backpack. Instead of sheathing the knife, he held it up higher. "Stand up" He said rather unconvincingly. "I said on your feet!" He added without hesitation, gaining back his confidence quickly. Without the threat, he could quickly gain control of the situation. He glared at her for a moment before his mind switched gears again. He sheathed the knife carefully.
"Okay, look. I'm sorry and all, but what in the name of whatever god you choose to follow was that for?" His anger had been abated by the sheer fact that he could not kill her. Not yet. Sometimes the animal takes control. If that was the case, she would live. If it was her idea, she wouldn't live long enough to regret it. However, he would not approach her. If she was still a threat, she was a far lesser one where she was. A slight shiver traveled his spine as his mind processed what had happened. He would have been dead before he could even get the knife in motion, let alone fight back effectively. That's it. From now on I eat on the fly or in a tree. He thought with a slight inner grin.
Using the briefest of glances, he checked his meal. It was....fairly well demolished. One snap from that beast had been enough to remove most of the edible material. Looks like he would need to find another. [/blockquote] Words: 472 Notes: He's even unpredictable for me o.O Status: Complete Time: Hasn't changed

Takiras eyes nearly crossed as she found herself staring at a knife. Oh Snapple... maybe an afternoon nap wasn't the best of ideas... She swallowed when he barked out orders and did her best to look small and helpless. The wolf inside of her raged, both at having lost control and at being threatened. She squeaked in her first attempt to speak, but then her voice came out, tiny and terrified.
"I-I don't think I can... My bones are still... adjusting..." She hoped that he didn't decide to kill her, especially since she was defenseless. Her whole body went limp with relief as he sheathed his knife. She tipped her head at the question.
"Uhh... I believe that all of nature governs itself... no technical god or goddess or anything... just nature... and uhh..." She was stammering like the worst of nerds when faced with a bully. A weak swallow pulsed her throat and she continued.
"Sorry, uh, sorry about that... Paki... Uhh... my wolf... She kinda got control when I tried to take a nap... Really sorry... If I'd been in better control I would have stopped her... really... I uhh... I don't like meat... I'm a vegetarian... I swear!" And now I sound like I'm a burning retard... Maybe I should have brought Chester with me after all... She thought as she let her jaws glue themselves shut. She glanced down, meaning to look at her feet. Instead she got an eye full of her own milky skin. Hmmm.... I should probably put a shirt on... at the very least... probably some pants too... I kinda wish I knew why some clothes stuck around and others didn't... She thought.
"Ummm... Excuse me, I'm just gonna... step behind this tree and get some clothes on... Uhh... pants are kinda nice... and stuff..." She stammered again, grabbing her sky and navy blue backpack. She ducked behind a tree and opened her bag. She found a pair of jeans that she'd meant to wash before wearing again, and a white tee-shirt that was speckled brown from the rainstorm a couple nights ago. She also found her wallet, or at least, what was left of it. Paki, you and I REALLY need to work some stuff out... Taki commented to her other half.
The wolf simply belched and yawned inside her skull before curling up and going to sleep. Taki pulled a face as the wolfs belch left the taste of raw bird in her mouth. She pulled out a small thing of organic mouth wash and used it quickly. The sharp, minty flavor destroyed all evidence from her taste buds of the bird. She pulled her hair back in a pony tail, keeping it's frizzy curls out of her face. She then popped back around the tree, smiling at the boy.
"Okay, that's better now that my butt isn't hanging out. My name's Takira Wolverton, what's yours?"

Schaun merely stood as she went off. It seemed to him that he had scared her, at least to the point that she had no actual idea what she was saying. A brief flashback hit him, no more than a second was he out. He gave the slightest waver in his stance as a memory surged up. It was from school. Some bully picking on some random kid. She sounded a lot like that kid. The flashback tried to keep going, to another event. This one concerned him. Before it could get a hold of the memory it was gone. Before him stood a girl; vulnerable, frightened, and rather lacking in the clothing department. What on Earth had made him threaten her? He mumbled something along the lines of "Uh huh" as she declared her vegetarianism. A headache blossomed behind his eyes, showering pain much like a flower disperses pollen. When the strange girl excused herself to get some clothing, he dropped too his knees. After a brief moment more, he scrambled to his tree and felt around for his pack.
His hands wandered in the dirt at random before feeling the blended materials of his pack. "Oh thank god" He whispered before opening it. Inside was a small infirmary, with his object of desire on top. A nice jumbo Advil container. The headaches had plagued him for a while now, and the precaution was necessary. Without hesitation he shook out two and popped them in his mouth. A quick toss of his head and the pills were down. The mental effect of simply taking the pills was helping, and the medicine should knock out the rest of the pain. He promptly replaced the container and slid his pack back where he got it from.
As he got up and turned around, she was returning from wherever she had gone, this time she was clothed. She seemed much calmer now. In fact, it was if she had forgotten what had just happened, introducing herself politely and asking for his name in return. The sharp changes in character; both his and hers, were starting to confuse him a bit. Schaun handled this the first way that came too mind, going along. "I'm Schaun Vanille. I wish we could have met in a less...... aggressive way." He said with a hint of his own smile. "Oh, and sorry I threatened you like that. You gotta be careful out here." The excuse sounded weak, even forced. As if he had done it for no reason. Whatever emotion he had of her after she shifted was gone, as was the original reasons power over him. Somehow, he had seen her as a threat.
As a gesture of good faith, he held out his hand. If the rest of the world could shake hands and be friends, he could too. Besides, whatever he had seen in her was probably something of his minds construction. Surely she couldn't be THAT bad, could she? God help her if she is..... A part of his brain asserted. He quickly slammed that thought away. Words: 517 Notes: N/A Status: Complete Time: Same

Taki smiled as he introduced himself and laughed as he explained about caution. "Don't have to tell me that bucko. I grew up in D.C. I KNOW about being careful. Sorry 'bout Paki, she's just stubborn and plain ol' vicious." She took the offered hand and shook it firmly. Her dad had taught her to make a good first impression with a firm handshake and a bright smile. Even if this was technically a second impression she planned to treat it as her first.
"I'm out here cuz I wanted to see the world. My folks said that was fine, got me some stuff and let me go on my way. How about you?" She asked, curiosity was supposed to be a good sign, right? Paki shifted inside of her, not liking being confined again and Taki ignored the wolf. Paki growled and tried to take over again, that was enough to get Takira attention. What the holly do you want Paki? She demanded of the wolf. It growled a danger call inside of her and she looked up.
"Oh spit..." She grabbed Schaun and dragged him back with her in a jump. A tawny brown blur thudded into the ground where they'd been standing and rose with a hissing growl. A cougar was glaring at them. Shut up in there Paki! She yelled at the wolf inside of her. She began to back away from the big cat, preferring not to fight with anything. The cougar advanced, hissing and growling.
"I think the poor thing is starving..." She commented idly. She didn't want to start a fight, but she also didn't know how to make the cougar leave. Paki was raging to be let loose. Wolves dislike cougars almost as much as dogs disliked cats. Finally Paki took over and clothing melted into fur while bones crunched and shifted. A breath and the fierce animal stood where the mild girl had been before. Muscles rippled under brown fur as it stalked forward. Its growls were a sharp contrast to the growls of the cougar and soon the pair were circling.
The cougar swiped one large, clawed paw at the wolf, and the wolf skipped back. It then lunged forward, jaws making an audible snap as they closed on air near the cougars neck. The cougar backed away with a growl and Paki took the chance to lunge again with a snarl. This time the powerful jaws clicked shut near the cougars face and the big cat turned to run. Paki apparently didn't accept surrender and took after it. It raced up a tree and she crashed into the base. She backed away, snarling and shaking her head roughly. She paced around the base of the tree, waiting.
Taki, stuck inside, was yelling at the wolf. She hated loosing control and even more she hated it when Paki was vicious. Pakis paws were pressing the loam in a pattern, and she was fighting with Taki for control. The cougar took it's chance and fled while the pair fought for who was in control. Taki won the internal battle once again and her body shifted back to human, this time wearing a pair of camouflage cargo pants and a tank top with the words 'Girls are Guys too.' printed across it's peach front in bold red.
"Oh joy... I wondered where these had gone..." She commented before passing out and falling over backwards.

Schaun's smile widened as she accepted his explaination, mentioning D.C. "Yeah, that makes sense." He said, shaking her hand when she took it. He was glad she understood his reason, even if it was rather fake. It would be nice to talk to somebody. Chatting wasn't a luxury he got too often. She continued along, explaining why she was out in the woods randomly. "Cool. You like what you've found so far on your trip?" He said, pausing briefly before answering her question. "I.....I'm not really sure why I originally came out here. I'm just more comfortable in the woods than in cities or towns. I just like the quiet I guess..." Nobody had ever had reason to ask him that, so the question caught him off guard. It was a normal question to ask, but he just didn't talk to enough people for it to come up.
He was about to say something when he was pulled away. The moment they started moving all kinds of warning bells went off in his mind, and he turned around just in time to catch a view of the cougar as it growled at them. What is up with everything and trying to kill me? He wondered dully before drawing his knife again. He didn't plan on attacking the animal, but he might need it. Slowly moving backwards, he again saw a large wolf. This time it was on his side though. The battle wasn't anything to get all excited over, as neither one of them seemed to be landing any hits. It appeared that the cougar didn't like it's odds though, since it turned and fled.
Instead of leaving it be, Paki chased after it. This seemed odd to Schaun. She had won, why continue to fight? As the wolf circled the tree, he moved forward towards them. From the tree the cougar had advantage, as defending yourself from above was a lot harder than from below. It seemed that quite suddenly it was over, as the cougar fled across the trees and Paki had become Taki again. She commented on the new clothing that she had shifted with, then appeared to pass out. Schaun ran forward, sheathing the knife again and kneeling beside her. Crap... Was all he thought as he checked for bleeding, careful not to move the head any more than needed. He figured she would wake up on her own, but it would be rather unfortunate if she did so with a fractured skull or something of the sort. So much for an awesome day. He thought. It seemed as if things were going horribly wrong on purpose. Words: 453 Notes: None Status: Complete Time: Still all afternoon-y

A few hours had passed before Takira woke up again, her head swirling. Her eyes flicked open, an oceanic swirl of blue and green. She found herself looking at the under branches of a tree. She groaned a bit, trying to recall what had happened to put her in this position. Paki prodded at her from the inside and growled. 'G'mornin Paki... could you tell me what hit me?' The wolf ignored her aside from to prod her stomach to growl. Taki pushed herself into an upright sitting position.
"Okay, why does my bum hurt? And why is my head pounding? ... and.... oh... hi..." She had only just realized that a boy was staring at her. She tried to remember who he was, everything fuzzing around inside her head. She tried to focus her gaze on him, but her eyes kept coming unfocused. Her brain was hurting quite a bit right now and she wondered why.

After he had ensured that Takira had no visible wounds, he paced around quite randomly. He was hungry, but he didn't want to leave her alone. If she woke up she might need a refresher on what had happened. On the other hand, she would probably be as hungry as him when she finally woke up. Finally his own stomach gave final ruling. After positioning his bag in the tree so it was harder for others to find, he shifted and took off towards the south.
It wasn't long before he found himself another meal, which he captured and consumed with no problems. After finishing his meal he turned east and landed in a fertile basin, marked with several farms, to find something for her. Schaun wasn't very good at identifying edible plants, as he took the sky's bounty. Some things were rather obvious though. One of the farms had some carrots and lettuce stored, as well as some kind of corn. He took a large amount, as well as a large rucksack to haul it it. He then skipped over to the next farmstead, where he found a stockpile of strawberry preserves. To go with that, he let himself into the house and got a loaf of dark-grain bread.
Now that the bag was comfortably full, he let himself back out and flew away. He arrived back at Takira an hour and a half after leaving. She was still out cold. At least she wasn't eaten.....
He set the bag down, then sat down next to it, leaning against a tree. From here he could watch her, and his other bag. Schaun was comfortably full from his hunt, so he left the fresh foods alone. After about ten minutes, his mind silently clicked. No physical change occured, though it seemed more like he was meditating. He did not move. He simply watched. Time passed.......
When she finally came too, she seemed confused. She started questioning the surroundings on why various parts of her were sore, then noticed him. "Hey. How do you feel?" He asked, getting up and walking towards her. After a bit of effort he got his bag down and dug through it briefly. "You bleeding anywhere?" He looked up at her, his hands on the bottle of Advil and some gauze. "Oh, and I got you some food too. Don't know what you like to eat, so I took everything that sounded good. Sorry if none of it suits you." Words: 421 Notes: N/A Status: Complete Time: Late afternoon now

Taki blinked at him in confusion as her eyes finally managed to adjust themselves to proper vision. Why was he asking how she felt? Hadn't she just said that, admittedly to herself, but still... She wouldn't mind getting the fill-in from this boy, since he seemed to know more about the situation than she did.
"Ummm... I'm not bleeding... but who're you? 'Nd how'd I get here? Wha' happened?" Her soft voice was slurred slightly. "M'head hurts like a dogs tennis ball..." She added, rubbing it gently. 'Dahhh... what happened to me anyways?' She wondered. Her head throbbed at the thought and she closed her eyes. Paki rumbled softly inside of her, an apology to her human half.
"Good wolf... dun do tha' again..." She whimpered softly to it. She tried to stand and ended up falling back to her rump as the world took a jerky, twirling lunge and the ground dropped away from her feet sharply. 'Ohhh.... Very not good... Really, very not good... Paki d'you feel sore too? The wolf didn't reply, seeming to understand that her human half was in pain. Paki, for once, didn't want to aggravate her human half, so she sat back. Taki just let her head drop into her hands with a quiet groan.

Schaun grimaced slightly at her questions. Not only had she been out cold for a few hours, she had no apparent memory of how that happened. Oh freaking joy. However, her claims of not bleeding were good. He dropped the gauze back in the bag and tossed her the Advil. "Okay. So I'm Schaun, we met a few hours ago. I have no clue how you got here, as I wasn't with you then. You sorta found me here. As for what happened, we were attacked by a cougar, you shifted, chased it off, shifted back, and passed out. It was a bit more exciting than it sounds, but whatever." He explained quickly. He wasn't too worried about her remembering right now, instead it was more important to get her back on her feet and able too move. As night moved in, things like that cougar would only become more frequent. He normally avoided such things by flying, but she was incapable of that. He sure as hell wasn't going to just leave her either.
After closing his bag, he got up and walked back to his spot for the food. Once he got it, he turned back and moved towards her. "You should probably eat. It's been a few hours." He sat down near her and pulled the bread out of the rucksack. He wasn't exactly hungry, but sitting still for that long had given him the munchies. After digging around a bit more, he found the jar of preserve. It was at this exact moment that he realized he didn't grab anything to spread said preserves on the bread. Oops. "You wouldn't happen to have some random silverware would you? I definately forgot to grab some." It wasn't typical of him to forget to take something. Of course, he usually didn't have to care for somebody. Words: 318 Notes: N/A Status: Complete Time: Guess

"Well... Alright then... Thank you." She somehow managed to catch the Advil bottle and then she looked around. Her bag had a water bottle in it. She heard him bring up food and her stomach growled. Below that she heard the simple growl of the wolf. She wondered if it was angry because she was hungry or because she was being weak. She decided it was probably the hunger, though with their weights they could both do without food for a while if necessary. 'Hush-ush Paki. I'll eat, as soon as I find my pack.'
"Eh wha? Silverware?" She had almost not heard his question. "Yeah... There's three full dinning sets in my bag... which is... ummm...." She spotted the blue cloth on the far side of the clearing. "Over there... Okay... One of these days I'm gonna walk onto a busy road the way my brain works apparently..." She forced herself to stand up, holding onto a tree until the world around her stilled. She moved slower now, but at least she could move. She fetched her bag back and sat again, wincing slightly as her rear end protested her full weight being rested upon it. 'Oh shut it.' She growled at her throbbing behind. She dug through the pack and found her dinning sets, clean and polished fairly recently.
"Here." She set one of the sets in front of him so that he could use it before she dug her water bottle out. The aluminum cylinder was dented from being thrown around during her travels, but it still held plenty of water, and kept it at the right temperature too. She measured it out with her mind and took a good swallow. After that she looked over the food, most of it was pretty decent by her standards. She took a couple of the carrots and fished an apple out of her bag, frowning slightly as she noticed that her store was almost empty. 'I guess I need to stop in a town and buy supplies soon... Good thing I still have my credit card. Paki had eaten most of her money along with the wallet when she had found it.
Giving a silent thanks she snapped the stem off the apple and the leafy portions off the carrots, tucking them in with a tree root as an offering to nature for letting her get this far. After that she sat down and began to eat slowly.

Schaun watched her carefully as she maneuvered herself towards her pack. She seemed slower, but other than that she looked fine. The loss of speed could be explained by a bad headache or a really bad blood rush. She made it there and back fine though, so it probably wasn't important. He couldn't help but smile a bit at her comment. Whether this was from the humor of her words or the fact that he almost believed them was something he didn't try to figure out. Once she sat the dining set down for him, he actually opened the preserves and the bread. He didn't want too much food, so he spread some of the preserves onto a slice and folded it neatly in half. He started to eat as well.
As he ate, his mind continued to churn the recent events. He was rather annoyed that everything seemed to be trying to kill him recently, but it's hard to complain when nothing had so far succeeded. Being with somebody else was a rather new thing as well. He didn't ever travel in a group, and he rarely talked to anybody any more than he needed to get by. Being able to talk with somebody; especially somebody who was also a shifter and understood the problems involved, was fairly refreshing. He smiled inwardly, taking another bite. Maybe I'm not as anti-social as I thought..... It seemed strange that a thief and a runaway could be viewed as anything but though. At least in his opinion.
Once he finished his small half-sandwich, he closed up everything and waited. In this bit of free time, he looked around randomly, checking out the area and making sure nothing was going to attack them again. Fortunately, there did not appear to be any threats. Once he had looked at everything on the same level as him, he turned towards the sky and studied the clouds. Several birds could be seen flying around, as well as some random aircraft. The sun was working it's way back down towards the horizon. They probably only had a few more hours of sunlight. At most 5, and that was probably pushing it. Too bad he didn't know what time it was, or he could actually figure that out. "You feeling better yet?" He asked after a short pause to let the bread settle in his stomach. She watched him as she ate, but her mind wasn't on the present. A dull ache had built up in her chest by now, and she couldn't help but think of her boyfriend back in DC. She curled her feet under her somewhat, feeling almost sick to her stomach with loneliness despite Schauns closeness. Her face pressing gently into her knees she began to cry. She had learned long ago on the school yards to never make any noise, and never to show her face either. Instead she silently sobbed into her knees, covering her face with her arms besides pressing it into her knees. Paki whined inside her, not sure how to handle this or the dull aches that were apparently the cause.
Taki didn't let even a squeak emerge from her lips as she sobbed. She didn't even hear his question as she sobbed quietly into her knees. Paki growled, and tried to take over to spare herself whatever was causing the other half of her to go psycho. Taki sobbed even quieter as the soft ache spread and practically incapacitated her. Paki growled, that was it, she was taking over.
With the sound of bones crunching Paki forced Taki into the back and then yawned. Suddenly she growled, the wolf was wearing Takis old clothes. She began to thrash around and walk backward, trying to pull the shirt off over her head. With a snarl she practically tore the shirt off and stepped out of the pants easily, belt or no. She grabbed the backpack and picked it up with her jaws, dropping it in Schauns lap.
Open the damn bag birdbrain. Her wallet is in there, and her phone. Just open it and fucking get her, and me, out of here. She glared at the bird shifter, hoping that he would get the point. If he didn't at least she'd get a new chew toy out of the deal. Crouching she glared at him, waiting for his next move. If Taki didn't like things then that was just too damn bad. Paki could feel her human half on the inside. Luckily, she wasn't affected by Takis attitude.

Schaun continued watching the sky, oblivious to what was going on. He was giving her enough time to finish eating before he would ask again. Besides, she might have to take a bit to figure out just how she felt. T'was not uncommon for Schaun to ponder his own feelings for several minutes. Because of this, he totally missed her crying. If he had actually looked, he probably would have tried something to help. He wasn't good at stuff like that though. In fact, having done this much for somebody was rather unusual. Maybe it was some hidden chivalry he had developed. He encountered women very rarely, so he didn't exactly have many chances to find out.
After a decent pause, he decided to see what was holding her up. He was rather surprised at what he saw. She was Paki again, struggling out of her clothing. He chortled softly. The wolf was growling, something he must have been too distracted to hear. The situation became a lot less funny when the wolf dropped her pack in Schaun's lap. The look she was giving him was a classic "Let's get going stupid." Or was it "I feel like disemboweling you"? Probably a mixture of the two. Too bad he didn't speak wolf.
"I'm going to assume this means we're leaving." He said, tossing the bag onto his back before standing up. As soon as he did though, he paused. They had three bags now. His bag, hers, and now the random food he had collected. After a brief moment of thought he decided to leave the food bag. They could always get more. He quickly fetched his bag and spent a couple minutes working out how to carry both. He would have asked his companion, but he wouldn't be able to understand her answer anyway. Instead he said, mostly for the sake of keeping silence away: "This'd be easier if you were human ya know. I have no idea if you have anywhere specific you want to go." Silently he wondered what had caused the shift. Surely she didn't feel it necessary to threaten him just to get him to go somewhere... Words: 373 Notes: N/A Status: Complete
