Name: Mary Cheskire (Shes-kiri)
Gender: Female
Age: 15
View: Outcast
Species: Prionailurus viverrinus (Fishing Cat)
Description:
Animal:
A standard fishing cat with very little to distinguish it from any other. The single most recognizable thing about her animal is not, however, normal. A single patch of fur on her right flank is shaded a soft red, with no apparent pattern or shape. She is 96 cm long, 20 of which is made up by her tail. She weighs in at roughly 11 kg. Her fur is sleek and shiny, and her toes are webbed to assist with swimming. The webbing is hard to notice since a cat's toes are close together, but in the water it's much easier to find.
Human:
Mary doesn't have a very powerful presence, either physically or mentally. She is rather petite (a mere 109 pounds), though not quite enough to pass notice. Despite her mild presence when in public, the eye does not ignore her. Though she is small; with a light frame and a graceful figure, she has a soft spoken beauty that is hard to miss. Her eyes are bright and a glorious shade of emerald, and she stands at 5 foot, 3 inches tall. She won't be winning any pageants, but the eye tends to linger on her a bit more than average. She has a complex with her hair, and tends to brush it in her free time. To help with this, she rarely puts it up. Obviously this can be a problem at times, since the jet black mass comes about halfway down her back. On occasion, she will put it up into a ponytail, though it's still fairly long like that. She isn't very tanned, either. Her clothing choice isn't unique, but should be noted. When she's amongst other people and the climate agrees, she has a modest black skirt, with a soft red pattern along the top that hints of flowers. For colder weather and out in the wilderness, she has several jeans. Normally she wears an everyday shirt where ever she happens to be at the time.
Personality:
Mary has an extremely happy personality. She almost never stops smiling, and is a pure and simple optimist. This is not to be confused with stupidity though. She is well aware of the fact that bad things happen, sometimes quite often. She simply views this as an unfortunate aspect of society. She always has an uplifting word to help somebody out, and she is simply incapable of attacking somebody. Not that she won't defend herself in battle, she just won't start a conflict. When in a town, she is fairly calm, though she has the occasional burst of bubbly joy. Out away from people the bubbly is in full focus. She's hyper and easily excitable. She tends to randomly climb trees and other random frolicy things. It doesn't matter if she has company either. In fact that might make her even more energetic. During these bursts of energy, her conversation can be hard to follow. She can and will skip randomly between topics, sometimes without waiting for a response.
History:
Her history is unremarkable and none to exciting. She was born in Germany, raised in the city of Munich until she was five. It was then that they moved to America. Specifically a town in central Ohio. The reasons for this are not known to her, as she never found it necessary to ask. If she had needed to know, they would have told her. She acclimated to the different society with the usually ability of a child, though they maintained their culture within the house. Her school career academically was nothing special. However, her immensely easy-to-distract attitude got her into plenty of trouble. After a several freakishly expensive psychiatric visits to determine what real or imaginary problems she had, it was suggested that some time off on her own might burn out enough energy to make her more comfortable in a school atmosphere. What the kind doctor had meant was a week or two in a nice summer camp. Her parents decided throwing her out in the woods for a year or so would be a bit more useful. So of course this is exactly what they did. Mary didn't really mind though, she loved the outdoors anyway. She was twelve then. Interestingly, she didn't know she was capable of changing her form until she was 14, despite being in a situation where such a thing would be amazingly useful. She's still practicing with the power, but she's not too bad.
Weapons and Equipment:
She carries no true weapons, though she is fairly nimble. Since she has no way to clean something she catches as her animal shift, she simply eats it as the fishing cat. As for equipment, she does have a lighter and some waterproof matches. She carries a small backpack with a map, a couple of her favorite books (both in English and German), and her wallet.
